Another week comes to an end! These four day weeks soon fly by! We have explored the myth of King Midas this week, sequencing the events in the myth in the form of a drama. We certainly made the most of the good weather as we performed our work on the outside stage. At the end of the week we wrote a persuasive letter from the perspective of King Midas. Mr Blackburn was very impressed with the quality of our writing!
In Mathematics we learnt about Mean, Median, Mode and Range. These were new skills that we had never looked at before during our time at Pool House so we spent all lessons this week on these. By the end of the week, we were far more confident than we were at the start and even had a go at some practice SATs questions! We learnt the riddle below to help us remember what Mean, Median, Mode and Range are.
“Hey diddle diddle, the median’s the middle,
You add then divide for the mean.
The mode is the one that you see the most,
And the range is the difference between.”
