Another busy week here in Gold class. We began with Bikeability- a series of skills base learning to enable our children to be safe on their bikes. Over two days the children learnt about basic bike maintainance, u-turns, crossing roads, the dangers of turning left and right across roads and a range of other ways of keeping safe. Today they have been presented with their level 2 certificates and badges; look out for the pictures on the website soon.

Athletics- A Thursday afternoon of athletics practise getting ready for Sports Day. Despite an incident involving an unfortunate Mr Mearns and an unnamed Y6 girl wielding a cricket bat, the children enjoyed getting out and active. The beautiful weather certainly helped as well!

Invent a chocolate bar- Our English studies over the last two weeks have centred around the theme of Inventors and Inventions. On Wednesday we were given a design brief from none other than Willy Wonka himself! The children created their own amazing sweet treats, and gave a design pitch to try and get the item made. Dragon's Den eat your heart out!

As you can see it has been a creative, active and all-round fun week here in Gold class. Enjoy your half term break , stay safe AND STAY OUT OF WATER (unless your are having a wash/bath/shower!) or if you are at an organised and safe event with lifeguards.
