What a wonderful first week back at school for Silver Class. The children have worked extremely hard and come back with a brilliant attitude towards their learning.
This week we have begun studying ‘Spooky Stories’ in our English and thinking about the effect that reading the story using tone and intonation has on the suspense of the story and the readers enjoyment. The children have enjoyed trying to read the story themselves in this way.
In Maths we have been focusing on fractions looking at the size of different fractions along with beginning to order them. We have also thought about doubling and halving numbers and all the children now have a method in order to have success doing this.
During PE we have started studying gymnastics and building to make our own routine. We have been particularly impressed with a lot of the boys attitudes to this topic as it is something that they were not looking forward to but now seem to be enjoying.
The award winners this week are:
Merits – Fred Skuse and Nicole Cox
Star of the Week - Alice Wojtkielewicz
Kind Friend Award – Skye Wright
We have had a brilliant start to this term and look forward to this continuing.
Please can we remind you that every child needs to be reading every night even if this is for 5 minutes. Also homework is due in for next Friday.
Have a lovely weekend. We look forward to seeing you all bright and early on Monday.
