We have had another fantastic week in Silver Class – we have been extremely busy each day and the children have amazed us with their resilience and determination to put 100% effort into all the work that they complete.
In English we began the week by completing our biography topic and the children wrote their own short biographies based on an astronaut. The work they produced was amazing and some pieces can even be found on our English board. Later in the week we started our new topic surrounding the book ‘Christophe’s Story’ the book follows many interesting themes and the children have dealt with this in an extremely mature way. We have been extremely impressed with many of the insightful questions that they have been asking.
In Mathematics we have been studying telling the time. This has been a topic that everyone in the class has found very challenging, however yet again the whole class have amazed us with their perseverance and by today’s lesson it was clear to see just how much more the children now know about the time. Maybe you could test this out at home?
During our topic lessons we have continued studying electricity in Science where the children have made their own simple series circuits. Looked further into the changes that the Anglo-Saxons made to the British when they invaded and learnt more about Sikhism in RE.
As you can see the children have had a very busy week and it has been extremely hard to choose who would get certificates. However the certificate winners this week are:
Casey – Star of the week
Ellie – Good friend award
Emily – Merit
Alara – Merit
Well done to everyone for such a fantastic week. Keep up the hard work for next week.
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you all on Monday.
