Well what a week! It's been so busy the children forgot to write their blog in school, good job Mrs Keating quickly asked the children at 3.10pm what they have enjoyed learning about this week before they left for the weekend!
In English the children have been reading a story about an astronaut. It's called "Man on the moon." Nicole C. The children have been learning about the main character Bob and all his adventures on the moon. Esther says, " The story makes me happy because Bob is very silly."
In Mathematics the children have been continuing to learn about weight. The children used non-standard units, to weigh different objects. "We have been weighing using cubes." Kayden The children also started to learn about capacity. "Capacity is about how much something holds like full, half full and empty." Ada.
In Science the children carried out an investigations. The children tested different materials to learn about their properties. The children learnt if it was bendy, absorbent, waterproof, transparent or opaque. (Challenge time, see if your child can explain what these words mean, if they can let me know I might give out a prize!)
In P.E the children have been practising for sports day, I certainly do have a class full of little Usain Bolt's.
In History the children have been learning about transport. They could name a wide variety of different vehicles and could even place them on a timeline from the oldest to the newest. "People used horses in the olden day." Mikquell.
In D.T the children have been getting creative and made a piece of playground equipment. they had to work really hard in joining the materials together. check out their creations on our gallery page.
As you can see it's been a very busy week in Moonbeam class.
