Whoops…I knew there was something I needed to remember before we broke up for half term…it was to do my blog and I forgot. I must remember to practice the memory games I’m always telling others to do!
The children worked really hard in the week leading up to half term. They applied the knowledge they had developed on habitats, to match up the descriptions to the different habitats. Next, they did some research on the internet and completed an analysis of the different features of some habitats. The children from the junior groups also enjoyed making up the features of a made-up habitat-Xybok!
Here are some of the younger children completing their analysis table about the different habitats that they were looking at. They were working really hard.
There was also some great work done in phonics and literacy support. The memory focus was developing our visual memory and the children had to remember what ‘ingredients’ the witch had put into the cauldron! They did very well with this and I need to make sure I practice these things too!
The superstars who received certificates were:
* Ada (Year 2)
* Esther (Year 2)
* Leila (Year 4)
* Lanea-Mae (Year 4)
* Noah (Year 5)
* Wojciech (Year 6)
Well done all of you!
This week’s challenge is a quick habitats quiz from the BBC Bitesize website. See how you get on.
Have a fun and safe half term holiday and enjoy!
