On Monday the children started to learn about being a good storyteller. They read the story ‘the best friends’ and practised retelling it. They started to learn about fraction and used biscuits to cut them in half and quarters. (Might have eaten a few too!)
On Tuesday in English the children were using adjectives to describe the characters. The children came up with some very exciting adjectives. In Maths we continue to learn about fractions and folded shapes to show the different fractions. In Science we learnt about objects that float and sink.
On Wednesday in English we looked at good and bad storytellers and the children created a poster to explain what makes a good storyteller. In Maths the children were learning about number pairs to 8 and 9. In P.E the children practised their rolling skills at a target. In R.E the children learnt about Maundy Thursday and the significance of the bread and wine for Christians.
On Thursday it was world book day and we had a super, fantastic day. The children investigated what had happened to Mrs Bennett and figured out who the villain was! The children designed and made a cape and mask. They even had a fly over Moonbeam town (Check out our gallery to see)
On Friday we carried out a big write about world book day. In Maths we learnt our doubles to 10. In D.T the children investigated how to make a lever mechanism.
