Another lovely couple of days in Moonbeam Class this week. We looked at some rhyming poems about dinosaurs and spotted the rhymes. After this, we wrote our own rhyming poems. Aiesha wrote a wonderful poem and was able to rhyme lots of words – well done!
We looked at a dinosaur claw (from an Allosaurus) and compared it to our own finger nails – it was a lot bigger! We measured one of the children and then measured out the length of a stegosaurus and a dinosaur like a brontosaurus…it was 60 meters long and would have gone all the way from outside Sunshine class, nearly to the end of the Junior yard! We used rulers to measure some dinosaur pictures – good measuring all round.
We have also been learning some dinosaur songs and spotted lots of rhymes in those too and even managed to fit in some sport’s day practice – Filip was amazing at the egg and spoon race, so watch out for him when we have sport’s day next week…he could be at the Olympics in years to come…especially if they start doing an egg and spoon race!
We talked about listening carefully and why this is an important skill to have. The great listeners today have been:
- Emily
- Ellie
- Filip
- Kyle
- Alara
- Millie
- Ben
- Charley
- Dylan
- Bobbi-Jack
The challenge this week is to complete the dinosaur puzzle – see if you can do the hard level with 25 pieces.
Have fun and enjoy!
