So sorry that I’ve not ‘blogged’ for the past couple of weeks, it’s been a busy-old time. I’m back now and will try to re-cap what has been happening since we’ve been back in school. For a few weeks, I was in Rainbow Class in the mornings. In mathematics, we looked at place value; number bonds to 10 and 20; addition and subtraction and counting in 10s to 100 and back. In English, we did lots of phonics and looked at the suffix ‘ed’ and past-tense words. We also read some of George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl, which the children loved and we wrote different synonyms to describe Grandma in the story. In P.E., we did tennis skills and whilst I was not very co-ordinated hitting the ball, some children showed real skill in this area, especially Jack.
The superstars over the past weeks were:
- Nevaeh (12.9.18.)
- Filip (12.9.18.)
- Ben (19.9.18.)
- Eliza (19.9.18.)
- Indy (19.9.18.)
- Bobbi-Jack (19.9.18.)
Well done to all of you.
This week and in the afternoons in the weeks before that, it has been that time of year when we do reading tests throughout school. So far, all the children in Gold and Diamond Classes have completed theirs and the majority of children in Silver Class too. All the rest of the junior children will complete theirs next week and I will make a start on the two key stage one classes…even I’m not mean enough to do reading tests with Sunshine class!
For the challenge this week, it seemed fitting to find a George’s Marvellous Medicine quiz, so enjoy!
