What another busy week we have had in Gold class.

We began the week learning about BODMAS in Mathematics. We learnt that BODMAS is the order in which you should answer calculations.

S UBTRACTION

We then began learning about the formal written methods for multiplication, following by a quickfire arithmetic test on Friday. All in all, a very busy week in Mathematics.

We have also finished our English unit about Pompeii. We carried out some SPAG activities linked to Pompeii, watched the Doctor Who episode ‘The Fires of Pompeii’ and then wrote our own ‘Pompeii inspired’ narrative.

In Music this week we continued learning about the ‘History of Music’. In previous weeks we had learnt about music in the Stone Age and in Ancient Egyptian times. This week we focused on the Medieval Age and the role of minstrels when learning about music in this era.

In PE we continued to develop our hockey skills. We learnt further ways to pass the ball, some with more accuracy, some with power. We also learnt how to effectively close down an opponent and why this was so important. We also created a classroom display which showcases our hockey skills as well as all the key terminology we have learnt throughout the last few weeks.
