I hope everyone has had a wonderful half term and done lots of fun things, but also had chance to relax after a really busy first half term.

Here is a top 4 of things we have done in our first few days back.

  1. We have started our Gymnastics unit in PE. This week we practised and performed different jumps – straight, pike, star – off a bench, focusing on landing in a delicate and safe way. We also began to look at individual balances such as the Y Balance, T Balance and Planche.
  2. On Wednesday we had an RE Themed Day to celebrate Diwali. We carried out a number of activities throughout the day – learning about Rahma and Sita, Diwa lamps, Rangoli Patterns and a range of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. We also took part in a Diwali workshop in the hall too where we made Diwali cards and patterns.
  3. In English we have begun to study War Poetry in the lead up to Remembrance Day next week. We focused on the features of poetry this week such as Onomatopoeia, Alliteration, Similes, and Metaphors amongst many other features.
  4. We began or new Science topic about electricity and made a safety poster about the dangers of electricity.

Remember that new Homework grids have been handed out as well as the resources needed for some of the tasks. Homework is again focusing on key skills this half term.
