It has been an amazing week in Sunshine Class and the children have made me feel very welcome in School. This week we have been learning all about bonfire night. The children learnt about why we celebrate this on the 5th of November, learning all about Guy Fawkes the Gunpowder Plot. We did lots of lovely arts and crafts activities based around this special day. In Maths we have been learning all about shapes. The children loved looking for shapes in the classroom, naming some of their properties. Our afternoons have been filled with lots of fun, making firework salt pictures and baking poppy cupcakes. It has been really lovely getting to know all of your children throughout the week and I have been really impressed with how settled and well-mannered they all are. Well done Sunshine Class for a fantastic week. You are all super stars!

Next week we are going to be looking at the story “Supertato”. We are going to be learning the story through play. We will be making our own superhero fruit characters and towards the end of the week making vegetable soup for the children to try. In Science we will be carrying out an exciting experiment to see how to melt ice to rescue some carrots that the evil peas have trapped. In Art we will be doing some potato printing and collage work for a new display in class.
