This week has been SATs week and all of the children have done themselves proud. The staff at Pool House are incredibly proud of each of them and I’m sure you at home will be too.

 

Our week began on Monday with our SPAG Test and Spelling Test. Then on Tuesday in was a Reading paper in which we had to read three different texts and answer questions about them. On Wednesday we sat the first two of our Mathematics papers – the Arithmetic and the first Reasoning Paper. Finally, on Thursday we sat our final paper, the second Reasoning paper.

 

A Massive thank you to all the staff who helped throughout the week – Mrs Cole, Mr Price, Mrs Herd and Mr Mearns. An extra special thank you to Mrs Gibson who returned to help out throughout the week. She laid on a SATs breakfast each morning – either a sausage or bacon sandwich – as well as a range of cereals, pastries and juices. She was a definitely a calming influence on both the children and the staff throughout the week and it was lovely to see her again.

 

On Friday we had a celebration day. We had a movie morning in which we watched a film whilst eating popcorn and drinking juice. Mrs Bradley very kindly brought in some treats for us to share too. A well-deserved treat after a busy week.
