This week we have carried out a range of scientific activities linked to our topic of Classification. We firstly classified a range of nonsense creatures based upon their visible characteristics (remembering that the creatures were not real so we could only classify them on visible aspects).
We were then given a range of well-known biscuits to classify. We created classification diagrams about each of the biscuits, considering their shape, texture, filling, whether or not there was a wrapper and many other aspects.
Finally, we used our knowledge of classification diagrams to classify a range of living creatures, some that we were familiar with and others that we had to go away and research in order to find out more about them. We worked in groups and asked and answered a range of scientific questions throughout our activity. Examples of our biscuit diagrams and living creature diagrams can be found on the class gallery and the Science Curriculum gallery.
