Full of festive cheer
What a busy 4 weeks we have had. The season to have fun, celebrate and show each other just how much we care. And there has been so much to celebrate. The nativity was absolutely amazing and we were so proud of every single person who took part. Learning lines, songs and acting on a stage is very brave and we have some budding future stage stars.
We have crafted and created a huge variety of Christmas decorations, including cards with moving parts, stained glass windows, baubles, calendars for 2024, Christmas hats and table decorations with evergreen.
We have learnt a variety of Christmas songs and dances and have enjoyed performing to each other.
Alongside the fun of Christmas our learning has continued in English and Maths. We have learnt all about non- fiction texts and the life of an Orang-utan and how to keep pets. In maths we have looked at telling the time, learning coins and adding totals and finding fractions.
The best thing about this term has been
“Making moving Santa cards” (Helen)
“Learning about Guy Fawkes” (Alex)
“Finding out what an Orang-utan needs to survive” (Nelly)
“Having a visit from the firemen” (Alex)
“Writing our Christmas acrostic poems” (Emily W)
“Typing up our instructions on a computer” (JJ)
We have had a few certificate winners throughout December but todays Christmas Star of the week went to Matilda Ward.
