What a busy week its been this week, with science week in full swing there was still time to enjoy some fun sports. This week was the start of the Infants joining in the sports fun as well as the Juniors. With Mrs Miller taking the helm with the junior sports games I (Mr Price) helped get the Infant sports games under way.

This week saw the juniors take to their new sporting venue (the rear yard) while the infants started their journey through the sports. With a day trip to town for Y6 and a day rained off, the juniors were left with only three days of sporting fun. Football was the chosen sports for these days and with only one game finishing with a win it was Isaac's team that took the spoils of the week for the juniors.

In the Infants it was Football all the way as they started their lunch time sports games for the very first time. With these games being more about fun and sportsmanship the final scores did'nt really matter. With goals coming from children from all the Infant classes including Reception class it was a pleasure to be a part of. The best goal celebration must go to Connor, who celebrated so much after he had scored he then forgot he had scored.

It's a fantastic feeling to be able to hand out the Sports Person Of The Week award and this week it got even better. Ben was awarded junior Sports Person Of The Week this week. Mrs Miller chose Ben because of his footballing ability and great sportsmanship. Kayden was awarded the first (of many) ever infant Sports Person Of The Week award. This young man is already a model professional in every way. He played in every position, scored wonder goals and had a great attitude. Next week we will be mixing the sports up and trying new games.

I'd like to end this week with a massive thumbs up and round of applause to the infants. The juniors are really good with sportsmanship and fair play but the infants have shown that there is another level to it all. Every single child who played sports this week in the infants did everything in the right way, from helping each other up when they had fallen over to shaking hands with each other and even the referee at the end of the day. Well done to all of the children, it is a pleasure to be involved in the games with these wonderful, talented little people!

Until next time............
