Our first week back started on a Tuesday this time, Easter egg rolling being the main event on Monday.

As we settled back into the routines for the summer term, we spent some time focusing on what our aims were going to be over the next 4 weeks. We all know we have our SAT tests to do but we decided that each of use was going to try our best to focus and be positive. We were very honest and celebrated our successes whilst accepting the areas we needed to improve on.

That has lead us to a lot of practising key skills in Mathematics, SPAG and Reading. Mr Wrenn has been extremely impressed with how hard we have worked in the mornings. We have focused on arithmetic skills and how best to use our methods to help make calculations as simple as possible. We read an extract from Matilda and made this into a reading comprehension test.

As well as this hard work we have had some fun looking at making different monsters to see how they adapt to their surroundings. This was part of our Science work where we matched different animals and their adaptations to different environments that they were able to live in. This is going to become our new Science classroom wall display.

Mrs Bennett is now teaching us Music on a Monday (as we are all now masters at swimming!) and this week we began learning to play the recorder!

Check back next week to see how much more progress we have made here in Gold class.
