Cricketing Excellence

As the summer term continues, so do preparations for the upcoming cricket tournaments. Gold class will be providing the majority of the team for the Kwik Cricket Tournament at Fulwood and Broughton CC later this term. Our practise is going well with some natural bowling actions and super hot-shots with the bat.

Inventions

Getting back to our English studies after last week's quizzes, we have begun looking at inventors and their inventions. From the humble fridge, via planes, trains and automobiles, all the way to deocxyribonucleic acid (DNA to you and me) we have been deciding on which we think is the most important. We've even looked at an inventors home and labelled the many weird and wonderful parts of it.

Leaver's Assembly Preparations

One of Mr Herd and Mr Wrenn's favourite times of year. We get to find all the old pictures of the children, right the way back to reception, and put together a slide show for us all to enjoy at leavers assembly. We've also decided on our production, although the content of this must remain top-secret until the day.

The Great Plague

Historical context writing is an important part of the all round skills practised by children in Year Six. We have looked at the Bubonic Plague and written a first person recount of the deadly event. Our draft was written on Wednesday and just this very morning (Friday 19th) we wrote our final edit on this grizzly subject.

A busy week as things return to normal in Gold Class.
