Well doesn't the sunshine just put you in a fabulous mood! After a very hard working half term, Rainbow class have been enjoying the sunshine and relaxing a little!

"This week in English we have been putting words together (contracted words)" - Emily J

We have also been looking at spelling rules including adding the suffixes -ed, -ing and -ly.

On Tuesday we did a big write with Miss Ellison. We wrote an advert, focussing on our persuasive writing, to sell a pair of rocket boots we had designed. Miss Ellison was very impressed with the quality of our work. We are definitely getting ready for year 3!!!

In science we have been continuing to learn more about plants.

"Some of our plants we are growing are getting very big." - Layla

"We are growing runner bean plants in class." - Tegan

"The next stage is when the flower pops up and then runner beans grow!" - Jammar

We have also been learning more about Katie Morag with Mrs Ridings, which we will continue next half term.

"Katie Morag lives on the Isle of Struay." - Callie

"We have been looking at physical and human features." - Zoha

"Granny Morag has been washing the sheep in a bath and put perfume on them." - Liliana

"She also put curlers in their fur." - Atlanta.

The children have been having a lovely time outside in the sunshine, but can I please remind parent's that it is very important the children have a hat and suncream in school to protect the children in this weather.

Star of the week this week is Sophie and our merit certificates were awarded to Layla and Leon. Well done to Cian and Max who were awarded Team of the Term certificates from Mr Price.

Have a lovely half term and hopefully we can continue to enjoy some more of this lovely sunshine.
