Our time in English last week was spent planning our own myths in preparation for our Big Write today. We used a grid of key features to help us concentrate our ideas. These key features included using relative clauses, creating complex sentences using ly, ing and simile openers and also using a variety of punctuation ranging from inverted commas to parenthesis. Mr Blackburn marked these over the weekend and gave us feedback to help us improve them further in our Big Write! He was very impressed with the final written pieces! Some will be going up on display in our classroom so come and have a look sometime if you wish!

We have also focused on using short division methods to divide three and four digit numbers this week. This was a task that we all found VERY difficult at the start of the week. We ended up practising on our whiteboards before completing a task in our books later on the week. Mr Blackburn praised the progress made!

In our afternoons we spent time with Mrs Miller designing our own phone cases. Look out for our progress with these in the coming weeks. We also spent time researching the Olympics in History. Mrs Miller gave us key questions to discuss as we compared and contrasted the Olympics in Ancient Greek times to the Modern Olympics. Whilst we did this some of us were in the hall with Mr Blackburn as we began our rehearsals for our school production Grease Is The Word.

Finally, last Friday was all about keeping fit and raising money! We spent our day skipping, racing, playing football, hockey and rounders in the sun. We all had a great fun but there were some sore legs at the end of the day. Please remember to bring your sponsor money back to school as soon as possible! Every penny matters!
