Welcome back after half term. The first week back has been so busy in Moonbeam Class.
In English this week the children have continued to learn about reports. They have written their own reports about an elephant’s trunk. The children have included headings, sub-heading, diagrams, labels, captions also lots of facts about why the trunk is so useful.

In Mathematics the children have been learning to count in 2's, 5's and 10's. They have been learning to count in groups of and have even started to use the multiplication sign.

2 x 10 = 20 (Ellie)
In Science the children are continuing to learn about materials and their properties. The children had a variety of objects and sorted them according to their properties.

'These objects are waterproof and these aren't.' (Eliza)
In P.E the children have started to develop their rolling skills in preparation for going bowling. The children practised rolling a variety of balls to different targets. In our other P.E session the children were doing multi-skill games. They played Spiderman tig and mat ball, the children loved competing against each other.
In R.E the children have started to learn about Easter. The children looked at the importance of Palm Sunday and we role played what happened. The children enjoyed shouting hosanna!
In D.T the children investigated moving pictures, they looked at level mechanisms, hinges and a wheel. The children are going to produce their own moving picture in later weeks.
In PSHCE the children have started to look at being healthy. What does healthy mean and how to keep healthy?
In computing the children have started to investigate audio books. The children looked and what they liked and disliked about audio books and compared them to reading a book.
