This week, in Moonbeam class, the children have been working really hard and independently (can you see what I did there?!) on their dinosaur project. They have done more addition work and played some competitive adding games, they did really well. In English, they have been practicing their alphabetical order and have used this knowledge to help them to put some dinosaur words into an index.

In other work, we looked at how we can help people who feel sad, did some rubbings of ammonites and found out about a dinosaur that was discovered by Mr Hanigan – my husband – in 2014. The children then had a go at studying some fossils with magnifiers and they wrote about what they saw. Some of the things they could find, were bits of bone, teeth, scales and even 150 million year old coprolite (that’s dinosaur poo!) They had a great time.

Our super listeners from this week and last week were:

  • Millie

The dinosaur superstars have been:

  • Filip: For being a super engineer with the Lego.

  • Conner: Last week, for super work in his mathematics.
  • Ben: Last week, for an amazing dinosaur fossil picture.

Well done all of you.

Finally, there is a great website, where as well as learning about different dinosaurs fossils, you can play some fossil games. Follow the links and challenge yourself!

Have fun and enjoy!
