What a week we have had here in Moonbeam class.  We have had a special visitor this week in the form of Effie the elf, who has been very mischievous and each day we look forward to seeing what she has been up to. We have written Effie letters explaining to her that it is important to be a kind friend and that she made us sad for sellotaping Elvis the elf to the board.  The children have also enjoyed the new Santa’s Grotto and the new areas in the classroom, including a selfie station and letter writing area. Please look at our week in pictures to see our photos.

The children have performed the nativity this week and it is looking spectacular. They have all tried so hard and learnt their lines as well their dances and songs. I am so proud of all of them.  We can’t wait for you all to see it on Tuesday!

As well as the nativity rehearsals, in Maths we have been able to identify smaller and bigger numbers and we have looked at measurements, comparing and ordering heights and different objects. The children also managed to order themselves in height order, which was tricky but we persevered and got there in the end. We have also retold the Christmas story through drama this week in R.E and worked on our independent writing.

We would like to thank Mrs Agic for being so kind as she has bought us an advent calendar for class. Each day we have had a different child so everyone will get a turn. Thank you Mrs Agic!

This week we were SO close to getting 100% attendance and the children were promised a treat if we managed it. Unfortunately we will have just missed out, but we enjoyed a chocolate biscuit instead on Friday for those that were in School. Fingers crossed we will eventually achieve our goal!

Our merit certificates this week went to Maddison for her lovely manners and attitude towards her friends and to Jamie-Leigh for her amazing effort in applying her phonics sounds to her independent writing. Our star of the week was Oskar and our football superstar, as chosen by Dan the man, was Scarlett. Well done everyone!

The performances on Tuesday for our nativity are 2pm and 6pm, we look forward to seeing you all there. Have a lovely weekend!
