This week we have celebrated the start of the Spring season by finding out all about Spring time and how the environment changes.
The Pear group wrote a lovely poem:
Beautiful yellow daffodils (Lillie)
Jumping green frogs (Kyra)
Baby chicks hatching (Hope)
Tadpoles in the pond (Remi)
We have been for a walk to spot signs of Spring. We noticed that things are starting to grow outside again. We have found out about some Spring flowers and have been making some of our own daffodils.
In Maths we have worked really hard this week with Mrs Hudson on money. We have found out about different coins and that they are all worth different amounts. Rossi, Aleks and Jamie have all been fantastic accountants this week.
In Phonics Miss Chippendale has taught us all the new sounds oi, oy, and or this week. Our phonics sounds are getting trickier now but everybody is working really hard to try and learn them. Some children now know all their Gruffalo words which is amazing so more words have been added to the sets this week. Sapphire and Adam have been extra fabulous with their phonics this week!
Mrs Bradley is super impressed with the readers this week. More children are reading more often at home and this really shows in school. Thank you for supporting us with reading. She says well done to Amelia, Esme and Logan.
Today we have been on our big school clean up mission. The whole school has been involved in this project and it really has made a huge impact. Please see the gallery on the website for all our photographs.
Thank you for your egg donations today and for the support with odd socks day. This raised over £150 for a local group who really appreciate the generous donation.
This weeks star of the week is Ethan
Our certificate winners are Esme and Sapphire
