HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! 

1. This week we began our new English topic about the Museum of Fun. We shall be investigating each room in the museum, before writing a review of the museum as an assessed piece of writing. We shall later be creating our own adverts for the museum too. 

2. In Mathematics we have started learning about different 3D Shapes. We have focused on the properties of the 3D Shapes (edges, vertices and faces) as well as the names and nets of each. Our Geometry work in Mathematics will continue for the next few weeks. 

3. Mrs Gibson has started teaching us about the gruesome and grisly Black Death. This is an incredibly interesting topic and already the children seem to love it! This topic is also the main focus of our homework grid for this half term.

4. In an exciting change to our usual schedule, Mrs Cole will be teaching Diamond Class for the first half of each Wednesday morning. The second part of the morning will be spent at Ashton where the children will be taking part in Textiles workshops.

5. Mrs Bennett is back with us in Diamond class for Music lessons every Wednesday afternoon! This half term she will be focusing on the sounds used in adverts – which ties in very nicely to our work in English!
