Happy Diwali,
This week we have found out all about Diwali, and how Hindu people celebrate it. We have made a big Rangoli pattern, Diwali lamps and tried some Indian food too.
We have done some Diwali dancing and enjoyed some Diwali music.
Our story this week has been The Gingerbread Man. We have enjoyed drawing and writing about the main parts of the story and have enjoyed baking our own gingerbread men too. We followed a recipe to make our Gingerbread men, mixing and adding the right amount of ingredients carefully.
In maths we have been ordering numbers to 10 or 20, forming numbers and recognising them. We have also been looking at different shapes to make up our Rangoli pattern.
In Phonics, we have learnt the new sounds u, r and h. Miss Bryson’s group have been writing sentences this week, which is incredible.
We have also had our dance and games sessions, getting changed by ourselves independently.
Our star of the week this week is Josh
Our merit certificate winners are Ibrahim and Marcel for excellent enthusiasm in their activities all week and talking to us much more.
Our Good friend award went to Sarah this week
