1. In Science this week we created our own classifying diagrams/branching diagrams. We first created diagrams for a range of ‘Flanimals’ (nonsense creatures) before also classifying a range of well-known biscuits too. This task will set us up nicely for classifying a range of animals and plants in the coming weeks.

  1. We began our new English unit about formal letter writing. We discussed the key features of formal letters and the type of punctuation we could use in it. Our end goal in this unit is writing a letter of complaint to Mrs Cole about an aspect of school we would like to improve, which we shall be writing next week.

  1. We learnt about finding percentages of amounts in Mathematics. We learnt how to find 50%,25% and 75% earlier in the week before finding 10% and 5% too. This was a tough task, but everyone showed real perseverance!

  1. We continued our Gymnastics topic in PE. We revised our ability to jump from benches, but we also practised a wide variety of jumps from the different sized vaults too.

  1. In DT this week we were taught how to sew our cushions by Mrs Gibson and Mrs Cole. This is an exciting project that some people found very challenging, but everyone has enjoyed it so far. We shall be continuing this next week - watch this space!
