This week we have been reading the story of the Rainbow Fish. We have enjoyed learning about sea creatures, and talking about all the animals that live under the sea. We even managed to watch an episode of Octonauts every day just before we had our lunch to cool down from the Sunshine. This taught us about other animals under the sea.
This story has given us the opportunity to get creative; we have finger painted our own Rainbow fish, collaged rainbow fish and made our own jelly fish.
As the weather has been so hot this week, we have enjoyed being outdoors. We have played lots of outdoor games, done our mile a day and we even designed and made our own dens in small groups on Wednesday so we had some shelter. Please see our Den photos in our gallery on the website. We have used sun cream and worn our hats every day too.
We have had Phonics outside every day too. We have carried on looking at the phase 3 sounds and have written some lovely sentences about the rainbow fish too.
In Maths, we have been ordering numbers from smallest to biggest, and have been counting in steps of 2 and 10. Our Maths is very good. We are becoming ready for moving up to year 1 with our Maths work now.
This weeks star of the week is Sarah.
