Our first full week together.

What a wonderful week we have had, everybody has tried so hard with all of our activities.

It has been a week of firsts and I’m delighted with the fact that everybody has been willing to have a go and try everything.

We have enjoyed learning our first 2 sounds – s and a. We have focussed on finding them, forming them and have learnt two songs to help us to remember them. We have also had our first reading sessions with our key workers.

In Maths we have really focussed on numbers 1-5. We have counted, recognised and formed these numbers. We have also tried to order these numbers too. We have enjoyed learning new counting songs too – some of the children have really lovely singing voices.

I am really happy with how well the children are learning our school rules and trying hard to make new friendships. This week we have gone in to our keyworker groups based on the relationships the children have formed with one another and different staff members. Today you will have a photograph of your child with their key worker and the rest of their group. They are either an apple, a banana or a grape.

This week’s football session was our first PE lesson and went quite well. Some of the children struggled a little with changing themselves for PE so a bit of practice doing this at home would benefit them a lot. The certificates were awarded to Matilda and Kennedy.

This week’s star of the week is Phoebe

Our merit awards went to Hana and Tilly

Our good friend award went to Alex
