We have completed our Lowry portraits and these are now being proudly displayed outside the Year 6 classroom. Instead of drawing further portraits we studied Lowry’s Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs and then created our own sculpture based on his work.

In Science, we built upon our learning from last week and classified a range of vertebrates and invertebrates using classification diagrams.

In English we have been planning our own Interview Transcript to go in our Year 6 Writing Evidence Folder. We began the week by learning about formal and informal language, read texts with intonations and expression, before spending the end of the week planning our own transcript, ready to be written into best on Monday next week.

In PSHCE we learnt about illegal drugs. In this session we learnt about the different types of drugs, how they are harmful to our bodies and then created catchy slogans to accompany our anti-drug use posters. Examples of these can be found in our class PSHCE Big Book.
