This week we have really focused on mental maths skills during our mathematics lessons. We have concentrated on ensuring that we are able to answer addition and subtraction questions mentally and not just rely on column addition and subtraction. We have been learning how to use counting up and counting back in order to add and subtract numbers.
In English we have continued with our poetry topic, this week we have looked at free verse and haiku poems. We have compared and analysed poems as well as beginning to write some of our own.
Science has seen us continuing our learning regarding electricity – we have focused on finding conductors and insulators. See our gallery page in order to see some pictures of this.

Throughout our other topic lessons we have studied:
History – Analysing, evaluating and questions sources and artefacts.
RE – How do Sikh’s live?
Art – Drawing Van-Gogh’s chair in his style.
PE – Performing a routine that we have sequenced in pairs using rolls, balances and apparatus.
Computing – Creating our own educational game using scratch.
Spanish – Learning and translating basic colours into Spanish.
As you can see we have had another busy week. We hope you have a lovely weekend and we are looking forward to seeing you back in school on Monday for the last week of this half-term.
