We’ve got a spring in our step…
Apologies for no blog last week but I was off school poorly with shingles. I’m sure the children told you all about their fun and adventures with Miss Bryson and Mrs Hudson. I know they all really enjoyed red nose day too.
This week we have really enjoyed being outside in the sunshine. On Monday we went for a walk around the local area to spot signs of spring. We were great at this and found lots of examples. The children were great at using this information in sentences when we returned after our walk and we have written some wonderful things down.
We have done plenty of reading and phonics too. We have had a focus on a new set of high frequency words which we have hidden around school, found and written with chalk.
Sunny weather means more outdoor play opportunities – children have enjoyed the additional water, painting, sand pit, dino land and fairy garden challenges this week.
We have also spent a lot of time making special treats for our special mums this weekend. The children really have put a lot of time into these gifts, thinking carefully about their writing and attention to detail on their creations. I am delighted with their efforts so I hope you will love them too.
A reminder that next week is the last week of term and we break up on Friday at 1:15pm. Next week we have Easter Bingo on Weds evening, and we will be enjoying Easter activities in school too.
I will also be rewarding the children who have completed their reading challenge this half term too.
