Oh how we have all shone brightly like the sun this week!
It has been a great week in our class this week. The sunshine has made us all feel happy and we have spent lots of time outside.
Our biggest achievement this week is our performance during the Music assembly on Tuesday. We performed our song 1,2,3 its good to be me in sign language to the rest of the school and then we sang it out loud too. We are so proud of Emilia who sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Spanish to the whole school too. She was so brave and amazing.
To celebrate World Music Day we have done lots of music activities. We searched for orchestra instruments outdoors, named them and grouped them. We found out how these instruments need to be played to make sounds and we learnt how a conductor does his job during a performance too.
This week our story was Rainbow Fish. we have enjoyed reading the story and acting it out in small groups. We have made different collages using different textures and materials or different creatures we might spot under the sea, We made Starfish, Octopus and Rainbow fish.
We have made a big Rainbow fish for the classroom and every time we spot somebody being a kind friend their name is written onto one of the scales. This is a lovely way to see how amazing everyone is being in Sunshine class.
Everybody has read at least 3 times this week and Miss Bryson has worked hard with different groups on different phonics sounds that some children might have been absent for or need a little extra consolidation on.
Mrs Hudson has been working with everybody on word problems linked to Rainbow fish. Children are really showing a great understanding of number now with both addition and subtraction.
We hope you all have a lovely long weekend and will see you back in school on Tuesday morning.
