This week the Moonbeam Class took part in ‘World Music Day’. The era that we had been given was 2010-2020 and they chose the Sea Shanty song Wellerman by Nathan Evans and Happy by Pharrell Williams. I introduced them to some Indian music which they enjoyed and wanted to dance to during the performance, and they were BRILLIANT! They made me and the whole school proud!

The day was filled with amazing musical activities, we had musical instrument pattern making, we had 2 stories about music (the bear and the piano and never play music right next to the zoo) and we also had an album competition. The competition involved the children designing an album cover for the song we performed for World Music Day. As all the entries were amazing the winner was picked out of a hat – Matilda W (The Competitive Song).

Congratulations to all the children who received certificates in assembly and for spelling!
