Week commencing 16 October 2023

In Mathematics we continued with fractions, looking at multiplication and dividing fractions by an integer. In arithmetic we have continued looking at conversions, specifically weight, distance, and volume.

In English we concluded our topic of the eruption at Pompeii. We discussed the definitions and importance of intonation and expression, and read our newspaper articles to the class. We also wrote a short narrative inspired by Pompeii, to be set either in historical Pompeii or the modern day ruins. In SPAG we looked at the purpose and use of semi-colons, conjunctions, and revised word classes.

In PSHCE we have concluded our topic of friendship and our Friendship Magazines, while in RE we reflected on the benefits and difficulties of forgiveness.

In PE we have started a new autumnal inspired dance Ms Leah whilst with Mr Mearns we finished this half term with an obstacle course suing the hall apparatus.

We had a wonderful Harvest Assembly this week, with our Year 6 head team leading the assembly and the class singing Conkers. It has been a wonderful half term, and everyone has worked very hard. Wishing all the Year 6s a relaxing half term and see you all on Wednesday, 1st November.
