With Burns Night coming up at the end of the week, we have learnt all about Scotland and Burns Night.

Our learning has included:

- A Scottish highland dance to traditional bagpipe music, which we also performed for the rest of School

- Trying traditional Scottish food such as tattie scones, square sausage and haggis

- How and why Burns Night is celebrated

- Finding Scotland on the World and U.K maps

- We discussed the Loch Ness Monster and if we believe it to be real or not, as well as what we think it would look like

- Made Scottish flags

- Explored Scottish traditions including kilts, bagpipes and the highland games.

Also this week, we have been introduced to Granny Rose, who is Miss Bryson's Grandmother and is from and lives in Scotland. We wrote her a letter, all of the children drew her beautiful pictures to send to her too and we decided to send her some biscuits too. We have also spoken to Granny Rose and she told us all about her bowling club.

In Mathematics we have explored and began to learn our number bonds to 10, In Phonics we have learnt the sounds oo, ar, or and oo (u), we have continued with our football skills in P.E explored properties of materials.

We have had another fabulous week in Sunshine Class and have thoroughly enjoyed our Scottish week.
