This week was World Book Day! We all dressed as Where's Wally for it (you can see pictures in our gallery!)
Before the excitement of World Book Day, we have been learning all about chocolate! (My favourite chocolate is Aero - Tegan) After looking at some information books and finding the features, we then looked at a class book all about chocolate and where it comes from. (We saw how chocolate is made - Layla). Next week we are going to have to taste some chocolate because we can't write about chocolate and not taste it!!!
In maths we have been looking at tally charts, pictograms and bar graphs. We took a tally of the favourite chocolate in Rainbow class. (Our favourite was Twirl - Max).
In Science we have been looking at nocturnal animals (Hedgehogs, foxes and bats are nocturnal - Cian).
Now on to book day! On World Book Day we had lots of activities including finding Wally, designing bookmarks, went on a school Wally hunt, looked on the World Book Day website and much more. (My favourite part was colouring Where's Wally - Sophie) (I enjoyed looking at the books - Hayden) (My favourite part of the day was colouring - Leon). What a tremendous effect from everyone for dressing up!
This week's star of the week was Nicole and the merit awards went to Leon and Emma. Well done!
This week there is no big write homework as we will be doing a Big Read next Friday. Instead I have stuck some maths questions in the homework books that need to be completed for Friday 10th March. There is also spellings and a homework web to be done too please. The children who had done their homework this week got a biscuit treat and a sticker towards their end of term treat (where they must complete 1 homework a week for this half term). Well done to those children who brought in some fantastic homework, including Callie and her eye-catching Banana chocolate bar!
Have a wonderful weekend!
