Welcome back..

We hope you all had a lovely two weeks holiday from school and had lots of Easter Fun.

We are starting a new topic in Sunshine class this half term. We are going to be learning about different countries around the world.

Mrs Bradley chose the first country we were going to learn about. She chose Scotland because her family all live there.

We have learnt about where Scotland is....

"Scotland is part of the United Kindom" (Charley)

We have learnt about Scottish landmarks. We have looked at Edinburgh Castle, the Loch Ness and Ben Nevis.

"Ben Nevis the biggest mountain in the United Kingdom" (Eliza)

We have been reading Katie Morag stories and finding out what its like on the Isle of Struay. We have really enjoyed reading these stories and watching some of the stories on the computer.

We have done some amazing writing in our new work books all about Katie Morag.

We have even tried some traditional Scottish breakfast foods. We had the chance to try square sausage, black pudding, potato cake, fried egg, scrambled egg and porridge.

"I liked scrambled egg" (Sophia)

"I loved the blackpudding, I had 3 pieces. Yummy!!" (Ellie)

As you can see we have been very busy.... but we still mananged to do some Maths work.

In Maths we have been learning about 3D shapes. We have been out on walks in the environment looking for the different 3D shapes it was lots of fun.

" A sphere is a solid shape." (Charley)

" A cube has 6 faces that are square."  (Alara)

I wonder where we will be learning about next week. You will have to check our blog next week to find out!

Well done to Millie for being this weeks star of the week!
