This week Sunshine Class are learning all about France so we incorporated some French songs into Music. They all enjoyed the song Bonjour ҫa va and we were able to use actions to remember the words. We also practised counting in French and the alphabet. I was very impressed with their efforts, fantastic work Sunshine Class.
In Moonbeam Class we continued with our pirate theme. We started writing our own songs describing the deserted island. Darcy and Esther wrote a brilliant first verse and they were able to write down crotchets and semibreves for the rhythm.
Rainbow Class enjoyed lots of singing. We focused on the song Young Rider. It is a song about a man writing a horse and has a very strong beat. We discussed the words and what they meant. Max gave very detailed answers fantastic work!
In Gold Class we learnt a new song London Bridge is falling down on the recorder. Most of us are getting really good at playing our recorders in time now and Mrs Cole could even identify the song so we must be sounding ok! We can also play hot cross buns, twinkle twinkle little star, and London’s burning. In the second half of the lesson we compared 2 folk songs and discussed our preferences. We also sang the songs. Danny Boy was really high!
Silver Class worked really hard this week learning the song I’m a Gnu. We listened to the song being sung in 3 different ways and laughed at the high pitch version as it sounded like munchkins from Wizard of Oz. We then designed our own animals and started to think about the way we can play our instruments to reflect the behaviour and personality of the animal. Lexi even managed to write the first verse of her song and sung it to the class. Great work Lexi. Next week we will get the instruments out and decide how our animal is going to sound.
