A slightly delayed Rainbow class blog this week as we had so much to cram into 4 short days last week!
After another bank holiday Monday, we came back to school ready to learn on Tuesday. In Rainbow class this week Mrs Ridings has been teaching us for most of the week, while Miss Ellison takes some groups to get ready for our special quizzes coming up.
In English we have continued with our unit based around the book 'Hermelin.' The children have been looking at features of persuasive text this week and have designed their own cereal that they would sell, including coming up with a catchy name and slogan.
In maths this week we have focussed on time. The children have impressed with their time telling skills and many children are able to recognise o'clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to. We are now focussing on supporting the children to tell the time to the nearest e5 minutes, which is an expectation of all children in year 2. How many clocks do you have in your house? Can you tell your mum and dad what time it is on these clocks?
Star of the week was awarded to Finlay, and Emily P and Emma recieved our merit certificates. Max was awarded with the Sports Person of the week! Well done everyone!
