This week in Rainbow class we have been busy learning about the seaside. We are beginning our final topic and this week have focussed on the geography side of learning about where a seaside resort is on the map and some of the features of a seaside resort.

Yesterday we also looked at pictures of seaside resorts from the past and present and compared the differences and similarities between a Victorian seaside resort and the seaside we visit now.

In English we have been designing our own zoo, working in groups to collaborate our ideas and then present this to the class. We made this into a competition and the group with the best zoo won a prize. Well done to Evie, Atlanta, Finlay and Nicole for designing Rainbow Zoo!

In maths we have finding the perimeter of different shapes.

Well done to Nicole and Liliana who were awarded our merit certificates this week and to Max for being star of the week. Jamaar and Max won Sports people of the week for KS1 this week.

Next week there is no big write as we will be having a French themed day on the Friday. There are still spellings to learn for the week linked to our learning in phonics and homework webs MUST be completed still. Disappointingly we only had 10 children do both their homework and big write homework this week and they were rewarded with sausage butties for their super homework!
