This week has been a very busy week in Rainbow class!

On Monday we continued learning about The Great Fire of London and the children wrote their own diary entries as Samuel Pepys. We have now finished our topic on the fire and the children have thoroughly enjoyed learning all about it.

In history we have started to look at bonfire night and The Gunpowder Plot. We have been learning about Guy Fawkes and his friends including Thomas Percy and Robert Catesby and what their motives were for wanting to blow up the Houses of Parliament. The children also created some bonfire night art.

On Tuesday it was parent's evening. I would like to say a very big thank you to all the parent's who came to see me. It was a great opportunity to tell you how wonderful your children are doing.

On Wednesday we donned our wellies and waterproofs for a day at Beacon Fell. Luckily, the weather stayed dry for us and we were able to enjoy a day of exploring, den building, walking to the top, drawing pictures of the view, playing man hunt, chalking and making nature art. A fantastic day was had by all!

Well done to Caroline and Ada who were our merit certificate winners and to Ada who is our star of the week.

Next week is our final week of a long half term - week 8! One final homework is to be done from the homework web, with a treat for all those children who have all their stickers (not many unfortunately!) as well as spellings and a maths sheet to complete on 3D shapes. I am sure the children will be ready for a rest but before then we have a halloween day to look forward to, a halloween disco and our attendance party!
