This week in English we have been reading the fantasy story The Man on The Moon, the children have been learning about the characters and the setting

"Bob doesn't believe that aliens are real" Dylan

"Bob's job is to work on the moon, he hoovers up the moon to make it clean" Ellie

"The moon has craters, they have little holes in them that the aliens hide in" Conner 

 

In Maths we have been partitioning two digit numbers into 10's and 1's, the children used money to make different amounts using 10p and 1p coins.

 

In Science we have been learning about wild plants

"wild plants grow on a hill" Alara

"wild plants grow where cheetahs live" Indy

The children then learnt that wild plants grow by themselves, the children went on a hunt around school to find wild plants, they found ivy, nettles, brambles, dandelions.

 

In PSHCE we looked at road safety and designed posters about safer parking, Ellie's poster has been chosen to be used to go outside school to promote safer parking.

 

In Geography the children have learnt about what makes a good map, they looked at symbols for building trees and rivers.

 

In R.E. we looked at where Muslims worship, the children identified key features of a Mosque.
