Moonbeam class have had another busy week, filled with challenges, sorting animals into categories and singing.

We have started singing rehearsals for our nativity this week and the children have tried amazingly hard to remember the words and it all sounds wonderful…so far, so good! We have also been learning dances and actions for the songs as our class are the dancers for the nativity and they are so excited to perform!

In English this week we have been acting out Sam’s autumn ramble from our e-book Who lives here? We have also sequenced the events to form a recount and answering questions about the book. In Mathematics we have been working hard on answering addition and subtraction questions and recognising – and +. In Geography we have been finding out about the four countries of the U.K, including where they are, their flags, what their capital cities are and what they might be known for.

In between all of this, we have been completing independent challenges and the children have worked so hard on their number formation, applying phonics to their writing challenges.

Our merit certificates this week went to Aaron for his outstanding independent subtraction work and to Kayden for his continued effort in Phonics and his speaking and listening tasks. Our star of the week award went to Etienne for having a fantastic week in class. Dan the man spotted Kayden in football for his wonderful football skills. Well done everyone!
