This week has been absolutely jam packed full of festive fun. We have enjoyed our Christmas party, where we danced and played lots of games. Prizes were given to the best dancers and winners of the games.
We have also taken part in a key stage 1 quiz, made up of 3 rounds (pictures, music and general knowledge) the winning team was the boy/girl group, well done!
On Wednesday Sunshine class did us proud at the pantomime. Everybody was really smart and polite. A real dream to take out of school! Cinderella was excellent and Buttons made us all laugh.
Yesterday we watched KS2 perform their carol concert. Our favourite song was the 12 days of Christmas. We also enjoyed our reward afternoon watching “The Star”, eating popcorn and finishing off our party food. We hope you loved the bag of Christmas goodies the children have made for you all over the last 2 weeks.
Yesterday we also rewarded our star readers, who have completed the reading expectation of reading 3 times a week at home over the last half term. We were thrilled that there were 15 children who were awarded and had the chance to choose their own Christmas story. These children are all now onto the first stage reading books (or above) meaning they are on target to reach their Early Learning goal for reading at the end of the year.
This week the children have also had some great input from Mrs White our student teacher. Mrs White has taught the children all about weight, different instruments and she has played scavenger hunts with the class incorporating ICT.
Our star of the week is Viaan who has been joining us for a lot more of the time in Sunshine class, forming lovely relationships with the adults and his peers. His smile brightens our days.
Our Merit winners are Isaac Lee-Stanger for trying really hard to follow all his instructions this week, and Remi for excellent participation in the Weight activities with Mrs White.
May I take this opportunity to thank you all sincerely for all your support this term. It really has been a fabulous term with so much fun and enjoyment. I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy new year!
