The last two weeks have been none stop! We have done so many exciting things and I am so proud of how hard the children are working, leading up to their last half term in year 1.

Last week was the year 6 SATs and the children were so well behaved throughout School, being respectful to their peers, that we celebrated with games and ice-lollies last Friday.

In English we have written post cards, researched more about Dougal and his wonderful trip to Atlantis and written about our own imaginary trip there. in Maths we have looked at capacity and volume, learning all about different measurements and how to read ml measurements. In P.E we have practised for Sports day and in Science we have been on a material hunt.

In R.E we have been exploring Islam and Filzaand Dhayyanhave been kind enough to bring in their prayer mats for the children to see and they have shown us their routine for prayer. We also looked at their places of worship and Ramadan. This Friday morning we celebrated out own version of Eid – we celebrated the end of the half term with a party, wearing bright colours, making our own music, dancing and enjoying party food.

In our Phonics this week we have been on a word hunt, played team games for finding different words and completed lots of different challenges to practise for our screening tests. I have sent home an activity booklet for the children to complete over half term, to ensure they keep up their Phonics skills. These booklets need to be completed and handed back in on 3rdJune. Thank you again, for your continued support at home with the children. We are nearly there!

From us all in Moonbeam Class, we hope you have a wonderful half term J
