The Final Countdown….
What a busy penultimate week we have had in Sunshine class.
We have continued with Phonics and reading as much as possible and have enjoyed the warmer weather outdoors.
On Monday we worked well in teams to build dens and shelters outdoors. We found lots of ways to attach the materials together, we talked about how to improve our dens and we changed the resources we were using to help make them safer or more robust. We enjoyed another hour with Miss Wilson, our teacher next year.
On Tuesday we started our day off with singing assembly. We spent the day getting ready for our celebration assembly on Friday, and enjoyed some time with our friends. It was nice for the children to select their own groups to play in and the toys/resources they wanted to use.
On Wednesday we had a musical day. Mrs Bennet spent most of the morning with us singing songs and teaching us dances. We enjoyed playing the instruments and playing our sounds to the songs we were singing.
On Thursday we were really active. We had a double football session with Lloyd and then had our water play session during the afternoon. Please have a look at the photos and videos in our gallery on the website.
Today has been all about celebrating a fabulous first year in school. We had a longer assembly with the whole school this morning because there were so many certificates to give out, then we talked about what nice things we would like to do next week for our last week. We had a lovely half an hour on the bouncy castles provided by Mrs Keating for the day. We hope you enjoyed the awards afternoon and feel as proud of the children as we do.
Well done to our star of the week Kyra-Mai and our certificate winners are Niamh and Remi for being such wonderful friends this week.
Next week is our last week and will be full of the children’s favourite things to do.
This is our final blog of the year so may I thank you all for your hard work and support with your children this year, it really has made a difference and has set them in good stead for year 1.
A reminder that school closes for 6 weeks on Friday 19th July at 1:15pm and re opens on Tuesday 3rd September at 9am. Have a safe and fun time with your children.
Mrs Parkinson and her awesome team.
