The children have knocked my socks off this week with all of their amazing and independent work.
We have been working hard on our independent writing in English, describing feelings of characters and making predictions.
In Maths we have created repeating patterns with 2D shapes and doubling numbers to 10.
Throughout Phonics this week we have recapped digraphs from phase 3 such as ng, th, or and ur. Our spellings this week are focusing on our phonics sounds. Please remember to practice spellings throughout the week, ready for our spelling test on Fridays.
In Science we have been identifying different parts of animals and in History with Miss Chippendale, the children ordered toys in chronological order.
We have created portraits using collages and the children’s masterpieces were wonderful.
Here are a few of our favourite things from this week:
“Playing outside with my friends” Dwij.
“Playing games on the big board” Hope.
“Phonics games with my friends” Noah.
“Showing everybody my work” Lillie.
“Working with Miss Parkinson” Hannah.
“English has been fun and showing other teachers my work” Niamh.
“Our favourite bit this week is Miss Wilson” Esme and Ellie.
“Playing in the outdoor classroom” Sapphire.
“Reading” Adam.
“Golden time with my friends” Isaac.
“Drawing on the whiteboard” Iyla.
“Hot vimto and biscuits” Archie.
“Shapes in Maths” Grace.
A lot of children have been off this week with illnesses so we ended our week with a cosy afternoon in golden time, with hot vimto and biscuits! Fingers crossed everyone is feeling better soon and back on Monday.
Please can we remind you that we still expect the children to be reading and completing homework at home. If you have any problems with completing homework at home, the children can go to homework club at Thursday lunchtimes, otherwise they miss out on part of their golden time on Friday afternoon.
Letters and sponsor forms went home this week for our Dance-a-thon. We are all so excited!
This week’s Star of the Week is Jamie.
Our merit certificates this week went to Ethan for his fantastic repeating patterns and work in Maths this week and to Archie, for his outstanding independent writing.
Our football certificates this week were awarded to Hope and Adam.
We hope you all have a lovely and safe weekend.
