This week has been our Safer Travel week, where we have been thinking about how to cross the roads safely, holding hands with our grown-ups and playing in safe places away from cars. The children (and staff) have been amazing. All children should now remind you to hold their hands when walking to and from school.

Alongside this we have worked hard with our high frequency words. All groups have played games with the Gruffalo cards, reading and writing them. Letter formation is really improving. It is wonderful to be able to say most children can now write their own names too!

In Maths we have practiced finding numbers with our number fans, writing numbers to 10, finding one more or one less and counting objects carefully one at a time. Number work is really improving.

We have had our weekly football visit from AFC Fylde, where Jake was spotted for superb football skills this week.

Today we have celebrated Children in Need/Pudsey day. Thank you for all your donations, the children looked fabulous.

Next week the children will be learning all about being healthy and hygienic. With all the bugs about at the moment we feel it is a good time to tackle this topic in hopes that a few more of us stay healthy over the next few cold months.

Our star of the week this week is Noah

Our merit winners were Zaynab and Alexander

And our friendship award went to Joseph
