Another amazing week in Moonbeam and we couldn’t be prouder of how well all of the children are doing…they are simply marvellous!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our fairy tale topic in English this week, exploring characters’ feelings, sequencing stories and sharing opinions. It has been lovely to see the children creating their own fairy tales in the writing and role play areas.

In our History lesson this week we have delved deeper into our topic of the Great Fire of London. The whole class have amazed me with their knowledge of the fire and how much they love learning about it. Our very own Pudding Lane bakery has come in handy as we have eaten some real treats this week, thanks to Hope and Ellie, who brought in their baking homework. Thank you girls, they were all delicious!

In Maths we have continued to look at 3D shapes and their properties and how we can categorise them. We have since moved onto money, identifying and naming different denominations of money. Some of us have found this quite tricky as we mix up the coins but we are getting there. Maybe let your child loose with your loose change and let them show you what they can remember.

Other highlights of our week have been learning about Sikhism and the Gudwara in our R.E lesson, presenting our own weather news in Science as we have learnt about the different types of weather and line drawing with Miss Chippendale in our Art lesson.

This week our Star of the Week is Noah.

The Good friend certificate was chosen by the children and they voted for Hope.

Merit Certificates this week were awarded to Lucas for his fantastic attitude towards his learning in all of his lessons this week and to Jamie for his wonderful independent writing this week, working hard to include all of the key elements without any assistance.

The sports awards from AFC Fylde was awarded to Grace.

Well done to everyone!

We hope you have a great weekend.
